Magen Lacholeh Medical Aid & Support for the Sick and their Families
Magen Lacholeh is a non-profit organization established in 1991 by Rabbi Benjamin Fisher.
Our mission is to effect real change in Israeli society by providing access to top quality medical care in Israel and around the globe. As a result, illnesses are diagnosed earlier, increasing the chance of successful treatment, minimizing expensive medical bills and thus reducing dependancy on the State.
Since 1991 over a million people have turned to Magen Lacholeh for help and no one is charged a single dollar for the services they receive.
By providing an extensive set of services, Magen Lacholeh ensures that all people, regardless of race, gender and ethnicity, get the help that they need.
Magen Lacholeh has been recognized as an invaluable asset by the Government of Israel, the President of Israel, the Mayor of Jerusalem and both Chief Rabbis, as well as members of Knesset and the Embassy and Consulate Generals of the United States of America.
Our budget for 2011 is $900,000. A small percentage of this sum is funded by private foundations. Additional funds are raised from Israeli benefactors. A balance of $300,000 remains to be raised by private benefactors in the United States and other countries.
Every single dollar is carefully spent and accounted for. Magen Lacholeh has its own internal accountant and comptroller and is audited by Haizler & Aronowitch one of Israel’s leading accounting firms.
Our team is headed by Rabbi Benjamin Fisher and our board of directors is comprised of Israel’s leading doctors and professors in a wide variety of fields. As a whole, our network of doctors and health professionals stretches worldwide, ensuring that everyone receives the best and fastest medical care possible.
