The donations will go directly to an organization called Soccer for Peace. This summer we are traveling to Israel, where will have our bar/bat mitzvahs.  As part of part of this process, we wanted to find a way to make an impact on other pople. As Hingham Middle School students who love soccer, we chose to support Soccer for Peace, a non-profit organization in Israel.  It is a summer camp that brings Jewish and Arab kids together to play soccer.  The organization brings these kids to a place where they can forget about the war-torn region that they live in, and play a game they all love.  Soccer for Peace’s goal is to make peace for the next generation.  Not only do the kids play soccer, but they travel to each others unique villages to learn the culture of the two different groups.  The program also continues year round to reinforce the friendships that have been forged.
