As we prepare to remember Barry on his 3rd yahrtzeit, I can’t help but worry about the hurdles ahead.  This year, BH, Amy was able to buy an apartment and give the children a permanent home in Neve Daniel, which she couldn’t have done without the help of all the generous donors to the Barry Shuter Family Trust.  Obviously, this came at a great expense and as a result, the monthly expenses have increased significantly.  The challenge of planning for future milestones as well as the unplanned financial hiccups we all encounter is that much more difficult in a single parent family.

The triplets rely on their mother’s presence tremendously which makes earning a full time income impossible.  Most people have a hard time making ends meet with dual income so the fact that Amy keeping her head above water by herself is tremendous.  As the children grow, so do the expenses.  Fibromyalgia has been plaguing Amy these past couple of years as well and due to unexpected flare ups, it is that much more difficult to find reliable income, even part time.
