UPDATE: Thank you to a generous matching grant from the ROI Community, an initiative of Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, the next $5,000 we raise will be matched (as of 8/23).
Like all global emergencies, the Corona Virus is most perilous for vulnerable populations. And as India is experiencing a deadly second wave of the corona virus the people living in the Kalwa slums and in underserved villages are suffering under the spread of the deadly virus and the extended lock-down. The second wave of COVID-19 infections has hit the marginalized communities hard and the virus is spreading so rapidly that the hospitals are overcrowded and overburdened. Our communities need emergency aid and community-based health interventions to immediately to step up their pandemic response.
In response to this imminent threat, Gabriel Project Mumbai staff are tirelessly working with communities in an emergency campaign called Operation CoVER . Corona Virus Emergency Response to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, and for keeping thousands of families from starving and dying from COVID-19!
Donate now so that we can support the health and well being of the communities: to provide vital medical equipment, hygiene and vitamin kits, masks, rapid-COVID-19 testing and other vital personal protective equipment to frontline workers.
Support our community outreach health camps in remote villages so that people can protect themselves from the virus and help us ensure that families have the food they need to survive quarantine and the general lockdown.
Meanwhile, our safe drinking water facility and our medical center provide invaluable health and hygiene services to prevent the spread of the virus among the most vulnerable in the community.
We are appealing to you for urgent assistance to ensure that the Coronavirus pandemic does not continue to spread through the slums and villages, and that the community continues to have the resources that they need to survive.
This campaign is being spearheaded by a member of ROI Community and has been awarded a matching grant.
