1800 infants spanning several dozen tribal villages and connected with Gabriel Project Mumbai (GPM) are diagnosed with severe-moderate malnutrition (SAM and MAM). These infants have simply not received the nutrition they need to develop healthy bodies and minds. Some are wasting away…

GPM has started ‘Project Bal Balwaan (Healthy Child)’ an initiative to combat infant malnutrition to an entire subdistrict of villages. Project Bal Balwaan helps parents, families, health authorities and communal leaders in the collaborative, region-wide effort to eliminate infant malnutrition. 

GPM, in partnership with the local government’s Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) rolled out this awareness program for the 37 village infant health centers (Anganwadis) in the district of Mokhada.

All infants registered are receiving vitamins and medicines from GPM and administered through health workers of the ICDS!
