#GivingTuesday - December 3, 2019

The AFC is proud to be a part of this global celebration of giving this year. We will be raising funds to improve safety at Catholic Familyland by establishing a totally pedestrian walkway at Holy Family Park during the Holy Family Fests.

 

What is #GivingTuesday? 

#GivingTuesday is the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and notably following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. 

 

What are we funding? 

Our next project is to improve safety at Holy Family Park by building a road that will pass behind the basketball and tennis courts to connect the main entrance directly to the campground. Once this road is completed, cars will be limited to this new road and the parking lots, and will no longer be allowed on the existing paved road. This will open up the existing road to pedestrians and bikes, creating a more secure environment for families to go to and from the sports fields, Mama C’s Snack Shack, picnic pavilion, and swimming pool.

We also plan to give a dedicated location to our bus, with pass-through parking for pedestrian safety, and to provide small utility vehicles to our maintenance staff to access pedestrian areas more safely.
