For my Mitzvah project, I am going to run multiple 5ks to raise money for the Disabled American Veterans association (www.dav.org).   My project is in memory of my Pop Pop, Colonel Herbert A. Finkelstein, who passed away several years ago.  Pop Pop Herb was a proud member of the Air Force for 25 years, was a pilot during the Vietnam War, served NATO in Europe, and in later years lost a leg.  He received many benefits over the years from the Disabled American Veterans association and was always committed to supporting and giving back to them.

I am raising money through running 5ks and also I will donate part of my salary I earn refereeing soccer.  All of the money I raise will go to the DAV, who motto is "fulfilling our promise to the men and women who served."  They provide much needed medical and other support to disabled veterans with the goal of empowering veterans to lead high quality lives with respect and dignity.

My upcoming races are June 6 and 13 with more to come in the Fall.  Thank you in advance for your support of my fund raising efforts!
