I'm Shai Wexler and I'm 13.  I'm celebrating my Bat Mitzvah in Jerusalem this July.  I'm so excited about my mitzvah project, Soccer for Peace, because I love to play soccer and care deeply about peace in Israel.  My mom is Israeli and I visit Israel every summer.  I also play violin, run track, and like to draw. 

   Having made many friends through soccer teams and camps, I know how soccer can form bonds.  In soccer, one of the first things you learn is that you must pass to your teammates and work together to score goals.  You realize what matters isn't how good individual players are, but how good the team is as a whole.  What people in Israel need to do right now is not to have one player dribble past everyone, but to work together as a team to score goals.

  To raise money for Soccer for Peace, I will collect donations on this campaign page.  I will also have a bake sale.  The bake sale will be on Saturday, June 14 at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, New York (by the soccer fields, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Please stop by! Any donation, no matter how small, is highly appreciated and will make a difference.  Donations to the bake sale are also appreciated.  This is a truly special organization that is completely worthy of your support.  Israel's future is in the hands of children,  and they need to coexist and be friends.
