This organization is a high school for boys in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel that I started and operated two years ago. At that time my son Gavriel, was slowly drifting off the derech, and I would not sit by idly and watch. He needed a school that would show him love, give him a positive and warm experience with Torah and Yiddishkeit and allow him to livie his truth without being judged.
It became apparent to me that the only way for Gavriel to have such a school would be for me to start one. So two years ago I opened Ohr Moshe (which was originally called Ori V\'yishi) with a group of kids who desperately needed love and understanding. Baruch Hashem, the school has been very successful in the first two years as can be seen by the smiling kids and happy parents. We even have two graduates who have gone on to yeshiva here in Israel.
As for Gavriel, he is now in yeshiva in Tsfat continuing his journey to find his truth. There is no doubt that his two years in Ohr Moshe gave him the love, understanding and space he needed to not fall into the spiral of drugs and other destructive behavior. It also gave me the chance to develop a deep and profound love for Gavriel, which has made our relationship something that both of us cherish.
I have given the school over this year to my very capable principal, Rabbi Avi Lipman, who continues to build on our past successes. In order to make it feasible for him to take the reigns of the school, I agreed to take on the past debt for the first two years of the yeshiva. The debt amount is $8,500 and it was worth every penny of it to have given Gavriel and the other students the gift of themselves.
Any help that you can provide to help me pay off this debt will be greatly appreciated. K\'siva V\'chasima Tova!
