Our Mission

The mission of UJCEAA is to work within the spirit of Jewish community building to restore, and enhance Jewish life in Eastern Europe. With a focus on children and young adults, we strive to connect Jewish souls to their heritage through both formal and informal education.  We envision a future where one generation can provide for the next in a community guided by the values and spirit of Judaism.

To achieve these goals, Rabbi Bleich, Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, and UJCEEA have kept a steady focus on both affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish youth, Jewish and interfaith families, and the elderly, while recognizing each individual’s unique path of connection to Judaism and their local Jewish community. By providing engaging programs, services and supports aimed at building trust, Jewish identity, Jewish pride and education, UJCEEA has experienced considerable success. This programming has inspired countless individuals and created more demand for services.  All of these services are un-funded and rely on the generosity of donors.

UJCEEA programs supported in Ukraine include summer camps, a home for the elderly, kosher hotel, mikva, kosher restaurants, day schools and yeshivas, and social support services. UJCEEA provides for the needs of Jews living in Ukraine during turbulent times and provides a safe haven amidst conflict.
