We are Congregation Shaare Tefillah of Teaneck and we need your help.
For the past 8 years, we've gathered week after week, holiday after holiday, in a small house that became our home. We all pitched in, led committees, held events, ran programs for our kids, and created an incredible community. We're a community who supports each other and now we're asking you to support us.
In order to continue to thrive, we needed a bigger space and recently had the opportunity to purchase an existing building in need of major renovations. Building our new shul is important to us, our families, our children, and our future, therefore we will spend this Shavout learning in order to raise money for our shul.
Building a shul is an invigorating and inspiring experience. Now is our chance to do something significant for ourselves, our children, and our community.
Over the past year and a half, our fundraising committee has done an outstanding job of collecting almost $500,000 towards the purchase and renovation our new building. This is enough to complete Phase I, which includes a total renovation of the sanctuary, restrooms, kitchen, social hall and an overhaul of the HVAC system.
HOWEVER, Phase II, will include the Beit Midrash, the Classrooms / Youth Wing, as well as many of the finishes, cannot be started until we are able to finance it. As of this writing, we are approximately $150,000 short of what we need to complete the project in its entirety. While this sounds like a large number, broken down, it amounts to approximately $1800 per family. We have confidence that if we all push hard, we can all find a way to raise the money either through a direct gift, through fundraising, or through soliciting donations from family and friends.
