Dear friends, family, and philanthropists:
I am currently preparing for my Bar Mitzvah, the traditional Jewish ceremony of becoming an adult. As part of this journey, all Jewish kids dedicate themselves to ‘tikkun olam’ (an act of kindness to repair the world). Because of my love for soccer, I have partnered with the non-profit organization Soccer for Peace.
Soccer for Peace is an extraordinary organization that encompasses two things that are important to me: soccer, which I have been playing forever, and bringing people together. Soccer for Peace unites children of war-torn regions in their shared love of soccer. By bringing these kids together to play soccer, Soccer for Peace allows organic relationships to form among children who may never have had a chance to interact. These children and families form lifelong bonds over soccer.
There are multiple ways that you can help me support this amazing organization.
Please Donate!
Please consider contributing to Soccer for Peace. I guarantee your contribution will be worth every penny. My fundraising goal is $5,000. But any contribution of any amount would be amazing and much appreciated.
Afternoon of Soccer Fun: Saturday, June 2, 2018
I am organizing a super awesome afternoon of soccer to unite people through soccer, just like Soccer for Peace. We hope to have around 30 people attend so that we can play two or three games. (You don’t have to have ever kicked a soccer ball before—it’s open to everyone).
The Details:
Date: Saturday, June 2, 2018, 4:30 pm-6:30 pm
Location: Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park Field T-1
If you would like to join us, please let me know when you make your donation and type ATTENDING and how many people. (There is a place to leave a note.)
Cheer on the Players at the Afternoon of Soccer Fun
Feel free to come and cheer on a player or team. Just let me know in your donation note if you plan on coming. We will be selling food and drinks to support Soccer for Peace as well.
Thank you all so much in advance for your support and participation. With your help, we can change the world!
Shalom,
Luke
