Shiryon l'Hevra Fund
YOZMA’s founding rabbi, Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon, has retired from communal rabbinical work after 20 years of dedicated service to our congregation. We will be forever grateful to Rabbi Shiryon for her groundbreaking and visionary leadership in establishing and nurturing Kehillat YOZMA.
Tikkun Olam is at the heart of YOZMA and at the heart of Kinneret's vision for YOZMA's future. With this in mind, we have established the special Shiryon l'Hevra Fund in honor of Kinneret with the goal of carrying on her tradition and ensuring the continuity of YOZMA's social action projects going forward.
We aim to raise $20,000 each year towards an ambitious five-year goal of $100,000. DONATE BB

Your gift to the Shiryon l'Hevra fund will honor Rabbi Shiryon and her vision for YOZMA's future.
YOZMA's social action projects have been helping local disadvantaged populations - including families in financial stress and children with special needs and their families- since our founding in 1997.
Some of these projects include:
- Adoption of the Beit Eden home for developmentally-disabled children from low income families. We hold Shabbat programming at Beit Eden. Members of Beit Eden join YOZMA's special programs: Purim carnival, community trips and events. Each year we hold a B'nei Mitzvot ceremony, which begins at the Kotel and is followed by a community-wide celebration at the YOZMA school. This is a moving, well-deserved rite of passage for Beit Eden residents and each year YOZMA shows that all Jews have the right to stand up and be counted. YOZMA takes responsibility for all coordination, organization and expenses.
- The YOZMAN after-school tutoring program provides one-on-one lessons to children who desperately need help but whose families cannot afford private tutors. In Israel, there are often 40 students in a school class, and a significant number require supplemental tutoring in order to keep up. Through YOZMAN, each week over 100 students are tutored and mentored by volunteer teachers who are members of the YOZMA community.
-
- Single-parent family support groups and programs to assist families in coping with their day-to-day challenges.
- Food Bank: Holiday distribution of food packages to low-income families throughout the city. YOZMA works with Modi'in's Department of Social Services support city residents in need throughout the year.
